The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao

Revision as of 20:37, January 17, 2010 by Kbenko (talk | contribs)

In reading this book this weekend, I find my lack of Spanish a handicap. Since it doesn't actually prevent me from understanding most of what's going on, I'm not motivated to look anything up just for myself. But if it's part of a project, well, that's another story. So here, starting with the page I'm on now, are the things I don't understand, with glosses for anything I have looked up. Feel free to add questions or answers, or improve my answers.

Spoilers below, probably.

Diacritics are omitted since I have no clue how to include them.

Cono, pero tu si eres fea = Girl, you are ugly

Platano maduro no se vuelve verde = A mature banana can't become green again (Is this approximately: "The leopard doesn't change its spots"?)
