Hi Everyone!

I hope you have been having a wonderful spring break and have a good start
to Passover tonight!

I'm writing to share two announcements:

First, the JRC kitchen is completely kosher for Passover and will be
stocked with Passover food and available for cooking over the holiday!
Anyone is invited to come by and cook some delicious Passover food. The
kitchen will be open on *Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5 *for
mealtimes as follows: *Breakfast, 7:30-9:30am; Lunch, 12-2pm; Dinner: 6-8pm*.
On *Friday, April 6*, the kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch, and
there will be Shabbat dinner at *7pm *as per usual. On *Saturday, April 7*,
the kitchen will be open, and there will be Shabbat lunch at *1pm *as per
usual. Please note that on Saturday there can be no cooking in the kitchen
in observance of Shabbat. At all times when the kitchen is open for
cooking, a member of the WCJA board will also be present to answer any
questions.

Second, on *Tuesday, April 3*, Joy Ladin, the first and only openly
transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution, will explore the
intersections and collisions of trans and Jewish identity through her
personal experience and her work on theorizing trans identities in relation
to religious traditions. Professor Ladin will give a reading from her
memoir and two recently published poetry collections, followed by a lecture
on her forthcoming book on reading God and Torah from a transgender
perspective:

*4:00pm:* Poetry & Memoir Reading - JRC (24 Stetson Court)
*7:00pm:* Lecture - Paresky Auditorium (39 Chapin Hall Road, Lower Level)

(This event is co-sponsored by WCJA, the Chaplains' Office, the Dively
Committee for Human Sexuality and Diversity, the Lecture Committee, and the
Oakley Center for Humanities and Social Sciences with support from the
English Department and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.)

We look forward to seeing you in the kitchen and at the upcoming event!

Best,

Tamar Aizenberg
*WCJA President*
