Hazzan '''Robert (Bob) Scherr''' (March 20, 1955 — ) is the current Jewish Chaplain of Williams College. Hazzan Scherr came to Williamstown in 2004 from a congregation in Natick, Massachusetts, where he served for more than 25 years. He is a regionally recognized bee keeper, a recreational cyclist and hunter, and brews his own beer and mead. His notable recipes include meatloaf, which he once made on Mount Greylock on a particularly snowy Mountain Day. Robert Scherr does not have frostbite.
He is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley, where he majored in American history. On the Williams campus, he is most famed for his layning and his bentsching.
