Towne Field House was a multi-sport recreation center located just south of the Hockey Rink. Rumored to have been built at the behest of the legendary [[cross country]] coach Pete Farwell, the building included a 198-yard, 4-lane track; basketball hoops; tennis courts; and a climbing wall among other amenities. In the spring of 2023, it was discovered that Towne's main support beams had rotted through, and the building was immediately condemned and scheduled for demolition, which was done during the summer of 2023. However, since the track was supposedly glued down with a mixture of asbestos, mercury, and lead, it took two more years for the track to be destroyed. The area is now a parking lot, but eventually will once again become an athletic facility. The MRC, down by Poker, will serve as its replacement when it opens in January 2026.
