Anchors Away is a student group formed in the 2004-2005 academic year to oppose the CUL's proposed Anchor housing or "Williams House System." Anchors Away was founded mostly by Joe Shoer '06 and Brian Hirshman '06. It grew to have:
- a web page
- a run for College Council co-presidency by Brian Hirshman '06 and Amarnath Santhanam '07
- a report on Anchors Away's Questions on Anchor Housing written in part and organized by David Kane '88.
