n. A CUPPS cup is a plastic thermos, one of which is given to each Williams freshman during first days to discourage use of disposable cups. CUPPS is pronounced identical to "cups" stands for "can't use paper, plastic, or styrofoam."

There is a yearly contest among students to design the decorations of next year's CUPPS cup.
