The Elizabethans is nominally a madrigal group, but in truth they don't sing too many madrigals. They're really a group that sings an almost completely non-pop repertoire, focusing on anything that they find beautiful, intriguing, or humorous from the wide world of music outside of a beatbox.
Founded in Winter Study 1993With 6-15 members, the 'bethans (as they call themselves) perform several times a year Elizabethans sing sacred and tour New England every spring breaksecular choral music from the Middle Ages to the present. They are known for A large portion of their frequently challenging repertoirecomes from the Renaissance, but they also sing folk songs, spirituals, their Renaissance performing garbjazz standards, and their unfathomable obsession with sheepmore. CD titles include "The Food In addition to giving a concert at the end of Loveeach semester," "Live From Albert Squarethey tour New England over spring break and produce a CD every two years. A dynamic and dedicated group," "Madrigal Inferno," they currently have two devoted directors: Maia McCormick '14 and their latest, "Set Me as a SealJasmine Thomasian '15."
