# Go to the Finder.

+
# Select Go -> Connect to Server... (or Command-K if you're a badass)
So if someone has shared their awesome mp3 and movie collection on the network I used to easily be able to access it when i still had my PC by going to Run: \\nameofuser How do I do this on a Mac? From googling, I figured out that I could go to the finder and connect to server and then type smb://ipaddressofthepc/nameofuser
+
# If you want to connect to \\firecat, type "smb://firecat". Click the + button if you want this address remembered.

+
# Click Connect.
but when i did that, it made me type a username and password.
+
# It'll ask for a username and password. Type GUEST for the user name, and leave the password blank.
