The Williams Record, founded in 1885, is the independent student newspaper at Williams College. The paper publishes 3,000 copies in broadsheet form once a week, on Wednesdays, and covers news and events relevant to campus. Space is also provided for letters to the editor and op-eds written by members of the Williams community.

Publication has traditionally been funded through advertising, subscriptions and online contributions; in 2010, however, as the newspaper struggled with structural deficits, [[College Council]] granted the Record a subsidy funded by an increase in the Student Activities Tax. If you read the Record regularly but do not hold a subscription, please consider making a [http://www.williamsrecord.com/contribution.php contribution] to support our continued publication.

If you are a Williams College student you are eligible to [http://www.williamsrecord.com/wr/?view=section&section=info&content=join join] the Record as a member of our editorial or business staff.
