  6. How did "Baba Booey" get his nickname?
Show producer Gary Dell'Abate is an avid collector of cartoon cels. One day, he was being mocked for his stupid hobby. He defended himself by quoting their alleged worth, and the pleasure they gave him. One of his favorites, Dell'Abate said, was his limited-edition "Baba Booey" (Quickdraw McGraw's sidekick). One problem. The character's actual name is "Baba Looie." Stern & Co. mocked Dell'Abate harder for collecting characters whose names he didn't even know. The fatal mistake came when Dell'Abate finally retorted that although they were having a good laugh at his expense, he would have the last laugh when it would all be forgotten the next day, and he would still have his cartoon art. By dubbing him "Baba Booey," Stern ensured that the incident would NEVER be forgotten by the show's fans. (Dell'Abate has since trademarked the slur.)
