In response to a call from the minority community of Williams College for a stronger and more unified voice against prejudice and prejudicial discrimination since September 1989, the Minority Coalition was formed in April 1990. The Minority Coalition is a student-run organization that represents student populations which have been historically marginalized or under-represented at the College, along axes including—but not limited to—gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and nationality. The Minority Coalition serves as an umbrella organization for thirteen subgroups, providing funding and support for these organizations. Additionally, the Minority Coalition works with other student organizations, academic departments, and administrative offices to represent the diversity of our community through programming and advocacy.
The General Committee of the Minority Coalition meets at 7pm on Tuesdays in Jenness House. Our meetings are open to all members of the Williams community.
