Changes

The Williams Spirituality Group invites people of all backgrounds to come together and share ideas about the world and our reason for being here. Each Café is a space on campus (currently meeting Tuesday evening from 9-10 PM nights at 7:30 upstairs in Hardy House Living Room, both Goodrich behind the doors) where students (and faculty meet on the couches, eat baked goods, share a bit about their week, /staff if interested) can come together and then engage connect in a meaningful hour-long discussionway. Each During the meeting, or at the end, the group decides thinks of a topic to discuss of interest for the next week, and someone volunteers to present. He or she brings in something that has to do with Examples of some of these topics: the topicenvironment/nature, whether it be a personal storyspiritual discovery/religious background, marrying someone of a special excerpt from a bookdifferent faith or culture, a poemmoney, a songsexuality, etcthe culture of American sports, ... and then presents this to kick off the meeting. Afterwards, the floor is open for reflection and discussionlist continues.

So far this yearAfter the topic is decided for the next week, our weekly topics have included: What is Spirituality?; How can we deal with stress/pressure?; Human interaction/connecting with people at Williams; Being our true soul prints; Seeing think about it during the economic crisis as an opportunity week and are encouraged to realize bring in something on Tuesday to share on the important things topic... from personal stories to poems to youtube videos. After getting coffee/tea/mochas/hot chocolate etc. from Goodrich Coffee Bar (for free and in lifenice mugs!), the group talks about the topic. We usually end up going around and reflecting personally on whatever we are inspired to share.

Some topics for weeks It is a wonderful opportunity to come will be: Dealing with death; mysteries take time out of relationships; the challenge of familybusy Williams week to breathe, express, listen, and gain new perspective... etcAlso, it is a place to meet incredibly interesting people that you may otherwise have only ever passed on the way to class.

This Also, it is not a safe space where people are encouraged "religious" group, meaning it is not necessary to listen be a member of any faith in order to one another, become inspired, and open up to share with others who they really areattend. You can just come when you see on the daily messages (Tues morning) that you like the topic for the week.
